This year’s been one for investment in my jewelry business. I spent a lot of time (and money!) upgrading my jewelry photography so that my designs would stand out better on Etsy, and I’ve also been looking into other forms of marketing in order to promote my work.

Social media is a super-hot marketing trend, and there are zillions of outlets, it seems. Flickr, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and others – you could easily spend hours each day Tweeting and posting and uploading, not to mention blogging! Luckily a lot of the different forms of social media allow you to link – connect your Instagram account to Facebook, and so forth.

It’s just another investment, but this is a time investment rather than a money investment. How do you pick the right social media format? What’s the right audience for your work? Right now I’m using a “shotgun” approach and just trying to do as much as possible, but I’d love to hear what you think!
