Crafty in the kitchen

Just what Mr. Crafty needed.

My best friend and her husband are very crafty. She’s a creative director for a big company, and he’s… well, he’s a personal trainer, a student, a hunter, a cook, a winemaker and a generally very crafty dude. One evening at a happy hour, Mr. Crafty and I got started talking about our Kitchenaid mixers, and all of the available attachments for them. We were all excited talking about pasta attachments and sausage attachments and juicers… and we looked up and our spouses were staring at us, mouths agape. They couldn’t believe how nerdy we were getting about a kitchen appliance.

But we understood each other, and ever since we’ve found common ground talking about cooking and food, among other things. For Christmas I decided I wanted to make something handmade for him, so I quilted a cover for his Kitchenaid out of camo fabric. I found the tutorial online, and whipped it up in an evening. I think it was the perfect gift for the hunter/chef.
